We are aiming to hold our Open Day on July 18th 2021 so please put the date in your diary. This will be preceded by Working Parties on 3rd and 4th July to ensure our site looks its very best. As ever, we are seeking masses of help from our members on these days. More information to follow.
The postponed AGM will take place at 7:30 on 1st July 2021 at Hawkinge Town Football Club on Pavilion Rd. Please put the date in your diary. The meeting is open to all members and we would urge you to attend to hear our plans and have your input into the activities of the society. We would also like to hear from people interested in joining the committee or playing a more active role in the society.
We are delighted to be able to announce that our monthly Coffee Mornings will resume on Sunday 2nd May at 10:00. All prevailing COVID precautions will be followed. More information will be circulated nearer the time.
Due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation, the decision has been taken to postpone the AGM due to take place in February. The committee will set a new date as soon as it is safe for us to hold the AGM. The new date will be communicated to all members giving at least seven days notice.
This coming weekend (13/14 July) there will be a Working Party at our allotments, where we will aim to get our site looking the very best for the following weekends Annual Open Day. (21st July) There will be plenty of jobs this Saturday & Sunday so everyone can help out regardless of age or ability. As usual we start at 10am, refreshments are of course available, so please do come along on either or both days and lend a hand. Information on the Annual Open Day can be found following :-
You may have noticed that there is a change with our web site. Importantly we now have a new location address as www.hawkinge-allotments.org.uk (A dash is now placed between hawkinge and allotments). Additionally, all previous society email addresses have been changed (e.g firstname.lastname@example.org). Amongst other benefits, this site has additional security, so please do have a browse around, hopefully you’ll find something new and of interest.
Our next Coffee Morning is being held on Sunday 5th May 2019 from 10am till noon. As well as the usual refreshments & cake, we will also have on sale all the items for sale that were listed previously. Hopefully we will have better weather this month and we will be able to see many of our members. I look forward to seeing you. Nick (Chairman)
All members should by now have received an email containing the latest HAS Autumn newsletter. It certainly is worth a read -if you have not yet read it or have mislaid your copy then its useful to know that newsletters are always archived on the web site for later reference. One amendment has since been made to the original with a correction of the email address of our site manager. All other details remain the same and a link to the Newsletter is here:-
April’s Coffee Morning is nextSunday 8th April from 10 o’clock until midday. We moved it from the first Sunday in the month because of Easter, future coffee mornings are always the first Sunday of the month. Therefore , May’s coffee morning will be 6th May! All the details of this and other events can be found in the Events & Social Calendar.
There is also a Working Party this coming weekend . Following the success of our Working Party in February we are now running Working Parties on both days at the weekends. So if you can come on either day, all volunteers will be most welcome and the kettle in the Clubhouse will reward you! Start time on both days is 10:00am.
We would also like to remind you of our trip to RHS Wisley in June. The cost (£15) is purely to cover the coach, entry is free as members of the Society. Offer is now open to members, their family and friends. Full details are in this link to our poster
A short reminder that our first Coffee Morning of the year is being held this coming Sunday, 4th March from 10:00am until Midday. We obviously have no idea what the weather will be doing by then, but you can be assured of a warm welcome, hot tea and coffee and a bacon buttie to cheer you!
One important fact you need to be aware of, is that the codes for the gates will be changed during the course of the Coffee Morning. An email with the new code will be sent to you separately later in the week. If you have any problems with the gate and the padlocks please contact a member of the committee.
