• This Saturday 28th March is our first working party of the year and everybody is welcome! There are a number of tasks that need doing around the site, including tidying up the port-a-cabin, cleaning the toilet hut, trimming back the brambles round the copse as well as various other jobs. We will also be giving short instructions on how to use the allotment mowers, so if you have volunteered for grass cutting, this will be your chance to learn how to use the machinery. If you can help out please come along from 10 o’clock in the morning and we will even supply you with tea and bacon butties at a very reasonable cost.
  • One of the jobs that we are doing on Saturday is changing the code for the locks on the gates, so watch out for a personal email with the new code in it. The main gate and the pedestrian gate to the side of it will have new padlocks that will both be opened by a key, the one key that will open either padlock, which will be kept in the ‘safe’ to the right of the main gate (as you look at it from the road). The bottom gate at the other end of the site,  will still have a coded padlock.
  • Next Tuesday 31st March there is a meeting in the Clubhouse at 7pm for anybody that is able to help prepare and assist on the National Garden Scheme Open Day, which this year is on 5th July. if you can help out please come along, if you can’t make Tuesday but can help please let Nick know.
  • Finally, a reminder about the day trip to Wisley on 13th June, places on the coach are rapidly being taken up and there are only a few spaces left. If you want to go, the cost is going to be £12 per person, whcih includes entrances to the RHS gardens and the coach cost. So very good value. To book a place please email Dawn at
  • We do not intend to turn the water on until ealry May, depending on what the weather does over the next few weeks. Most plots have a water butt and there are communal butts around the clubhouse and toilet. Please make sure your own water butt is connected to collect any rainfall.
